Matrice identitate

Un matrice identitate o matrice unitate es un matrice quadratic cuje elementos sur le diagonal principal es $1$ e alibi $0$. In le anello del matrices quadratic, illo es le elemento neutre relative al multiplication de matrices. Illo tamben es symmetric, autoinverse e idempotente. Omne matrice identitate es un special matrice diagonal.

Si $R$ es un anello con le elemento absorbente $0$ e le elemento neutre $1$, tunc le matrice identitate $I_n\in R^{n\times n}$ es le matrice quadratic

$I_n=\left(\begin{array}{cccc}1& 0& \cdots & 0\\ 0& 1& \ddots & ⋮\\ ⋮& \ddots & \ddots & 0\\ 0& \cdots & 0& 1\end{array}\right)$.
